The Shaver Family

Our Farm's Story

Scott and Angela grew up farming, raising cattle, sheep, and chickens.  We were both active in 4-H and went on to pursue our love of animals in college.  We met when they both worked for a hog company in NC.  Since then, we have worked in various aspects of the agriculture industry (i.e. Cooperative Extension & 4-H, and teaching agriculture education and also leading their school's FFA Chapters).

In 2014 they adopted their son, Stephen, and immediately knew that they wanted him to grow up living the farm life as well.  So, in 2017, the opportunity presented itself for the Shaver family to move to TN and take over his family farm.

We currently raise cattle, sheep, chickens, and turkeys.  We hope to expand our farm to include hogs and goats in the future.  It is our intent to provide our family and yours the best pasture-raised meat as is sustainably possible.

So how did we get Shmily Farms?  What does Shmily represent?  No, we did not misspell anything.  While dating, Scott and Angela completed a devotional book that discussed the concept of SHMILY notes left for your loved ones.  SHMILY = See How Much I Love You and we thought it was a great name for our farm to represent our devotion to one another, our family, and our farm products.

If you have questions about our farm or how we raise our animals, please feel free to contact us using the form below.   From our family to yours, thank you!
